Includes diaries of Eliza Pettingall née Jennings, January 1821-December 1824; Henry Jennings, January 1836-December 1839; Alicia Jennings, January 1856-September 1956; Sophia Jennings, May 1886-April 1887 and Henrietta Jennings, July 1887-October 1890. The diaries contain religious observations, details of social life in Tasmania and Victoria and descriptions of a European tour taken by Sophia and Henrietta Jennings during 1886 and 1887. Other papers include photographs and genealogical information about the Becher family. Alicia Jennings was associated with the establishment of the Women's Hospital, the Governesses' Institute and the Ladies Benevolent Society.
